How CodyCrossAnswers.com handles your data. No accounts, no profiling, no resale. Just the strict minimum needed to run the site.

Last updated: May 4, 2026

Summary

The short version: CodyCrossAnswers.com requires no signup and does not personally identify you. We measure aggregate site traffic only (page views, browser, country) to understand which answers are most consulted. We do not sell any data to third parties.

On your first visit, a consent banner asks for your choice regarding loading web fonts from Google Fonts (the only third-party transfer that requires your agreement). All other processing is strictly necessary.

1. Who we are

The CodyCrossAnswers.com site is an independent service publishing CodyCross answers in English. The site is operated by its publisher, reachable at [email protected].

CodyCross® is a registered trademark of Fanatee. CodyCrossAnswers.com is neither affiliated with Fanatee nor endorsed by it.

2. Data we collect

We limit collection to the strict minimum needed to operate and improve the site.

2.1 Browsing data (automatic)

When you load a page, your browser automatically transmits:

  • Your IP address (used by our host Cloudflare for anti-abuse protection, then anonymized in statistics)
  • Your browser type and operating system
  • The page viewed and the referring page
  • The timestamp of the request

This information is kept in server logs for a maximum of 30 days, primarily for technical purposes (error detection, attack protection).

2.2 Audience statistics

We use a privacy-respecting analytics service (analytics.xwm.app) that does not set cookies and does not use your IP address to identify you. The data collected is aggregate:

  • Number of page views per day
  • Approximate country of origin (country level, never city by city)
  • Device type (mobile / desktop / tablet)
  • Entry and exit pages

No individual profile is built. No data is shared with third-party ad networks at this stage.

2.3 Data you provide voluntarily

If you write to us at [email protected], we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use this information only to reply and we delete it as soon as your request is handled.

3. Cookies and consent

3.1 Consent banner

On your first visit, a banner asks you to choose between Accept all, Reject, or Customize. Until you respond, no resource requiring your consent is loaded (in particular Google Fonts, which transmits your IP to Google).

Your choice is stored in a technical cookie named cookieConsent (duration: 1 year). You can change your mind at any time by clicking Cookie preferences in the footer of every page.

3.2 Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)

In line with applicable regulation, these cookies do not require your agreement because they are essential to the site's operation:

  • Anti-CSRF token (“XSRF-TOKEN”): protects forms against cross-site request forgery. Duration: the session.
  • Cloudflare cookies: set by our host to distinguish real visitors from malicious bots. No personal information is recorded.
  • cookieConsent: stores your choice on the banner above. Duration: 1 year.

3.3 Resources subject to consent

Only one resource requires your explicit agreement:

  • Google Fonts (Mulish and Nunito fonts): loading them transmits your IP address to Google's servers. If you decline, the site remains fully readable using your device's system fonts.

We use no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, and we do no cross-site tracking.

4. Third-party services

To run the site, we rely on the following providers. Each applies its own policy:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, CDN, DDoS protection. Receives your IP address. Cloudflare's policy
  • Google Fonts — loads the Mulish and Nunito fonts, only if you consent via the cookie banner. Receives your IP address when the font is loaded. Google's policy
  • analytics.xwm.app — anonymous audience statistics. No cookies, no individual identifiers.

We do not transmit any data to other third parties (advertisers, data brokers, social networks).

5. Why we process this data

The legal bases for our processing (under Article 6 of the GDPR, where applicable) are:

  • Legitimate interest: operating the site technically, ensuring its security, understanding aggregate use to improve it.
  • Consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR): loading Google Fonts.
  • Performance of a request: replying to your messages when you contact us.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, and similar privacy laws (such as the CCPA in California), you have the following rights at any time:

  • Right of access to data concerning you
  • Right to rectification in case of inaccuracy
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Right to restriction of processing
  • Right to object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time via the “Cookie preferences” button in the footer

Because we don't identify you, in practice these rights apply to the data you've sent us (contact emails). To exercise a right, write to us at [email protected].

You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the EU, that's typically your country's data protection authority; in the UK, it's the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); in California, the California Attorney General's office.

7. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, protected by Cloudflare against denial-of-service attacks and malicious bots. Server logs are stored on secure infrastructure and automatically purged after 30 days.

8. Minors

CodyCrossAnswers.com is accessible to all ages. We do not knowingly collect any data identifying a minor. If a parent or legal guardian believes a child has sent us information, they can write to us to request deletion.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may evolve to reflect our practices or applicable regulation. The date at the top of the page indicates the last update. In case of substantial change, a notice will be displayed on the homepage for at least fifteen days.

10. Contact

For any question about this policy or the processing of your data, write to us at [email protected].
